Keeping an International Vehicle Fleet Aftermarket Provider in Touch and on Top

Glo Fiber Business Win: April 17, 2025: Glo Fiber Business is pleased to announce that an international provider of aftermarket vehicle fleet safety systems has selected our 500 Mbps Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) service. The company, headquartered in Lancaster, PA, specializes in installing and servicing vehicle fleet safety systems such as GPS telematics, driver safety systems and other related technologies.

The customer maintains a network of 1,500 certified technicians who provide localized services in all 50 states, Canada and U.S. Territories. Coordinating and managing jobs and resources across this vast service area from the company’s headquarters requires a network connection that’s fast, reliable and agile.

The company had been using a shared broadband connection from a national internet provider. Because the Lancaster market is largely rural, the provider’s local network used hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) cable technology which is slower and less reliable than an all-fiber network.

One of the drawbacks of HFC technology is that, while download speeds can reach 5 Gbps, upload speeds are typically around 100 Mbps. With large amounts of bi-directional data traffic streaming to and from the company’s headquarters, an all-fiber network that supports the same fast upload and download speeds was necessary.

As a private fiber connection, Glo Fiber Business’s DIA isn’t affected by high traffic loads in the area, unlike a shared connection that often slows down when the network is congested. DIA is also easily scalable, supporting data speeds up to 100 Gbps and enabling the customer to connect additional locations in the future.

“The vehicle fleet aftermarket is growing quickly and evolving. With our scalable all-fiber DIA solution and local customer service, this customer is poised to capitalize on the opportunities now and well into the future,” said Glenn Lyttle, SVP Commercial Sales for Glo Fiber Business.

In addition to top quality DIA service, with DDoS and direct-peering, Glo Fiber Business also offers real-time visibility into network usage. Learn about the Network Performance Portal solution for monitoring and enhancing network utilization.
